Introduction
Humans spend most of their waking hours playing with what novelist Rudyard Kipling called “the most powerful drug used by mankind”—words. In the laboratories of our minds, we sort, slice, and string words, before breathing life into them with our voices.
How I write poems
I think of a word or a word comes to mind and I recite it. This word acts as a search tool in my mind, memory and brain. Then within seconds, words in verses and rimes, pour out of my conscious mind. I take a pen and put down the verses on a piece of paper. Lines and rimes keep coming down from the bottom and top of my mind. I keep witing them on pieces of paper. Finally, after 4 or 5 verses of 4 lines each, I stop writing. I add a title and a dedication paragraph. This is finished and a specific poem comes to life!
