Blogs by Joel J Keene Giving the Easter Date Creedence 11/27/2025 6:49:26 AMQuid pro quo change of the Christian Creed in exchange for the Orthodox adjusting their Easter calculation. When I predicted that the Orthodox would change their Easter calculation just in time for 2026, I was aware that there needed to be something given by Rome. I believe it will be making a small change to the wording of the Creed. The Pope is currently traveling to the ancient site of Nicea, for the 1700th anniversary of the Nicene Creed. This Sunday is the first Sunday of Advent, which in olden times was when the date of the next Easter was announced. The Nicene Council, in addition to the formulating the Creed, was when the ground work for the date of Easter calculation was laid. 1200 years later, the new Gregorian calendar caused the Roman and the Orthodox Easter to diverge. They are about to be brought back together.
