When the Door Looks Closed, Look Again

Opportunities don’t always look like open doors. Sometimes they look like paused timelines, unexpected redirections, or silence in a place where you were expecting movement. But I’ve learned over the years that Yah often wraps direction inside moments that feel unclear.

Leadership has taught me something I wish I’d learned earlier: what feels like uncertainty is often the gentle, steady rearranging of Yah’s hand. It’s uncomfortable because it’s stretching you. It’s unfamiliar because it’s elevating you. It’s quiet because it’s strengthening you for the next assignment.

There were seasons I thought I had missed something—only to realize later that Yah was shifting me from what was good to what was appointed. We grow in gratitude when we can say “thank You” even as the path is changing under our feet. 

The Work of Readiness

The world celebrates manifestation; Yah celebrates preparation. Preparation is the layer we don’t post about. It’s the private surrender, the long nights of reflection, the discipline to keep working even when the outcome remains unseen.

Every delay that once frustrated me eventually revealed itself as protection. Every pause revealed purpose. Every redirection added clarity.

Opportunity requires alignment, and alignment requires willingness. When Yah opens a door, He doesn’t just advance you—He aligns you with the place where your purpose can breathe. That alignment often requires pruning expectations, releasing old habits, and walking away from rooms that can no longer hold your growth.

We often ask Yah for more opportunities. But sometimes He’s waiting on us to recognize the ones already unfolding. 

Reflection for Leaders

Before calling a season “uncertain,” take a moment and ask yourself: Is this confusion… or construction?

Purpose is rarely linear. Leadership is rarely predictable. But Yah is always intentional. Every shift you feel right now—even the uncomfortable ones—is building something deeper in you than a title, a project, or a position. It’s building character, clarity, and capacity. 

A Word From Experience

This past year stretched me in ways I didn’t expect. I thought I knew what transition looked like. I thought I understood surrender. But Yah had more to reveal.

I learned that stillness is not stagnation—it’s strategy.
I learned that closed doors are often confirmations.
I learned that when Yah slows your pace, He is strengthening your foundation.

So if your season feels unfamiliar… breathe. If you’re unsure whether you’re moving forward… breathe. If opportunities seem to be shifting faster than you can interpret them… breathe. You are not behind.

You are being built.
