"What Scares You? "

I am afraid of the dark. I wasn't as a child but in my older age the darkness seems to consume me and I think I know how it all came about. About 4 years ago, I was very sick with the flu, oh I was a mess! I couldn't breath when I laid down to try to get some rest. I had fluctuating fevers and a cough that sounded like thunder yet a rattling noise in my chest. I was so conjested. In any event, I took some Robitussin and some Sudafed at the same time to try and get some sleep. It did the trick and I drifted into lala-land. I drempt that I heard my bad door in my home open and close and foot steps moving around the house and they got closer and closer then I heard the steps walk right over to my bed. I could feel that someone was standing over me. I remember asking what they wanted in my sleep but got no response. As I laid there I realized that someone was staring at me and I woke up I look straight into this hideous face of a man and in the dark his face glowed in a soft lime green color and I remember his eyes were very dark with black circles around them. I screamed with all my might as he turned and opened my back door and ran out. Have you ever drempt a dream within a dream. I woke up the same way as in that dream. I looked all around my bedroom. I even got up to check my back door and it was locked secure.
That scared me to death.
Now I have nightlites in everyroom now my thing is shadows, now that I have the nightlites on, out of the corner of my eyes it seems that the shadows are moving around. My spouse travels sometimes and I'm usually alone, so I thought the nightlites would help but at least its not totally dark.
My girlfriends come hang out with me when ever my spouse has to leave for a certain period of time.
I know it's sounds silly but I've been frightened ever since.
My spouse said "I took too much at one time and I became delusional in my sleep."
Which could have been the case but I can't help what I fear now! Can You?
