Well written, Barbara. I suspect there is much truth in what you say, even though a good many of us (including me) haven't a clue what God really is and do not subscribe to the common superstitions. I sense the universe has some all-permeating field (sorry for the vagueness), that is somehow entangled with the power of 'spirit' for lack of a better word, and that when we have faith in ourselves and others, and maybe most importantly, in the 'universal spirit', we place ourselves in alignment with the flow of the cosmos and gain from its power.
