Those that would argue the "abomination" quote from the Old Testament should be reminded that in nearby chapters the people were told o kill the women and children of their enemies.
I would refer you to Proverbs 6:16 - 19 where the "abomination" to God being referred to is "he that soweth discord among the brethren." The New Testament standard is that if you call your brother a fool (paraphrased) you are sinning.
The Bible, first of all is a mirror, with which to judge one's OWN life.
As far as others, we can know the heart of a person by the fruit they produce in their lives. Often, words and actions belie what is in the heart of a person.
My story, "Sandy's Secret" is about my brother who was gay, when gay wasn't cool. He has passed, and his memory will always be sacred to me. We knew each other in a time where such things did not even cross our minds. We made a solemn vow to never grow up, but to keep that child inside alive. I can't wait to finish Sandy's Secret, because he did keep that innocent child I knew so well foremost in his life until the end.
