"Oh no! I've said too much." Sometimes the desire to conceal is the most prudent, so I decided to remove some of my poems and commentaries that were too indiscreet. Many that attempted to explain the loneliness which comes from uniqueness (I'm a bit of an oddball) and the sexual frustration and nostalgia (longing for the past) which often comes from growing older, revealed too much and contained a lot of self-pity and resentment. (Apatheia is an ideal I strive for but do not always attain.) I retained a few of my better poems on those subjects, but if you haven't already read the rest you're too late. Everything I've written is still included in my "Things I've Written" articles but some of the links have been removed. Those of you who know me may feel free to question me privately about the topics I have censored. (There is always a conflict between the desire to reveal and the desire to conceal. From Eros comes our desire for intimacy. From Thanatos, our desire for security.) . . . Addendum: I have reposted a few of the pieces I'd removed. Apparently some of my original courage or recklessness has returned.
