Very nice piece, and a great reminder!
I think an essential part of the Christmas message, often overlooked, is that God did not come into a sqeaky clean, decorated and be-garland world prepared for him.
He came in the lowest of the low times, to a poor couple in an impoverished part of the world, under oppression, and then in a socially "questionable" pregnancy. But Mary had said "let it be done to me according to your word."
This is where He made, and I think almost always makes, His appearence; In the midst of trouble, in the midst of need, in the midst of brokenness, to those with a heart willing to receive "let it be to me according to thy word"
Even so, Come Lord Jesus!
