"Happiness"
8 Comments - Show Original Blog
I'm a firm believer that we make our own happiness, but sometimes when it is in short supply that contagion of a friend's smile is like a shot of adrenalin. Patrick
Christine, We have to go through these,
joy, pain, happiness, to get across the
bridge. In other words, to grow and get on with our lives. You write so elequently.!
Always,
Deborah

Beautifully written, Christine...you have so very eloquently expressed many of my own thoughts about life, love and happiness. I agree that there must be pain and anguish in order to truly appreciate joy! I have been there my friend....over and over again for more years than I'd care to count. But the important thing is that through it all I've learned to cherish every single moment I breathe! And no matter how much it may seem at times that our troubles are impossible mountains while others have only ant hills to scale...EVERYBODY has their poop! You are a beautiful soul, Christine!
Excellent write Christine. It takes much less effort to smile then it takes to frown. We have to exercise more muscles to do so as well. There must be a reason for this so just smile your way through things. There is a thread of goodness in every situation no matter how dark things may seem. You can just think about what you can learn from a bad experience or what NOT to do next time. So there is something worthwhile learning in everything in life. God Bless!

Ah, Joy and Pain and Happiness I am of the opinion they are actually vital for our health, each one feeding off the other. I also believe that for us to go through a period of joy, where everything falls into place and there are no lessons learned we tend to become lackadaisical. What usually happens when we are too lackadaisical and we forget what we may have learned from life's lessons? We usually do something which causes us pain. Whether we ourselves cause our pain or someone else matters not, pain is pain and it hurts, both mentally and physical pain. During our period of pain we try to figure out what we could have done, or not have done to cause us all this pain. Sometimes we are in too much pain to think straight, but eventually we come to a conclusion for the reason for our darn pain, and we store that reason in the "I ain't gonna do that again" storage bin in the old gray matter, and pretty soon, we are having all this happiness surrounding us, so much so we are almost embarrassed because we wonder if we truly deserve all the happy days we are having.. Well, of course we deserve them. I hope I have made sense here. All I am saying is that "Joy," "Pain" and "Happiness" play off each other and are vital for our health and welfare as we motor through this thing called life.
Wonderful, Christine. Be happy.

the gulls are happy, and the night
