Very interesting! I have thought of Memorial Day as Decoration Day since reading "Tom Sawyer."

Memorial Day has always been a special day to commemorate our dead. When as a child my Mother would make floral baskets of peonies from her garden and we would take them out to the cemetery. I love to stil visit the cemeteries today to honor our dead and see who has a flag commenterating they have been the service to our country. |
