A most disturbing but truthful write. It is extremely difficult for any soldier to witness what they do and it not have some effect on them. I know they say they are given phyc training but when a young soldier is deployed overseas it is entirely different. This is when the true reality hits and for some of these fine men and women it is just too much to bear. Longer stays only cause a trooper to feel trapped as he has no means to get away when mentally he is unable to take it. We as civilians have absolutely no idea what goes through the minds of these men and women as they quite possibly stare down at a child bearing arms. What would we do? Something to think about!

The strain must be terrific on them to do suicide like that. Even with home problems like finances etc they should be able to face them, but the war is so inevitably risky and not getting us anywhere except so many young ones gone.

When they discard War Veterans like yesterday garbage...what they expect?
I propose that for every amputee soldier that comes home we cut off the same limb of a politician, if we do that war will be a different business...one from the past.

Almost couldn't read this article...the "red" not compatible with my eyes. BUT THEN...I did a scroll/highlight, and up popped our Red-White-and Blue! Neat.
De we really think the suicides matter to the Execs? Or even some top Pentagon Brass? If so, they could/would have lessend in the past two years. I heartifully believe our Honorable Fighting Men and Women KNOW what they are NOT fighting for. They should have been concentrated in Afghanistan and not sent into Iraq. Therein lies a big problem for our Military Force. But we cannnot undo what has been done...shamefully at the expence of our Brave Men and Women. We LOVE 'em all, and God Bless them.
