On the surface this enrollment opening sounds great. It's what VA Secretaty Principi did under Clinton. The result was a mess at VA hospitals and clinics across the country. If they don't simultaneously increase the number of doctors, nurses and staff answering the phones, all this increased enrollment is going to do, again, is flood the VA system with more patients, which is why Bush cut out the Category 7 & 8 vets from the system in the first place, and even that didn't help enough. Don't get me wrong, I believe every vet deserves heathcare from the VA, but I also believe every vet should be able to expect the same level of service from the VA that they can get from the private system. That means haveing a person answer a phone when you call for an appointment without having to be on hold for an hour, and being able to get an appointment within a few days instead of a few months. This is often my experience, and I'm a Category 1 vet. Oh, and it would be real nice to have a doctor for a primary care physician rather than a nurse practicianer. Terry

I hope that Health Care will be open to ALL War Veterans, we cannot start pinching money from their budget, which, should be more than generous as those soldiers did under fire.
