"Oh, Did Paddy Smile!"

Faith, Edie! 'Tis with a warmin' o' me heart that I read those words, as the blessed Saint's day approaches once again! And what, might ye ask, is me own plan fur honorin' Holy Padraigh's memory? Just this:
I'll gather up the pots and the old tin can
The mash, and the corn, the barley, and the bran
Then run like the divil from the excise man,
Keep the smoke from rising, Barney!
Boys keep your eyes well-peeled today
The tall, tall men, they're on their way,
They're sarchin’ for the mountain tay
In the hills of Connemara!
A gallon for the butcher and a quart for Tom
And a bottle for poor old Father Cromm,
To help the poor old dear along
In the hills of Connemara!
Now swing to the left and swing to the right
Sure, the excise men will dance all night,
Drinkin 'up the tay 'til the broad daylight,
In the hills of Connemara!
Boys, stand your ground, and don't you fall
The excise men, they're at the wall,
Glory be to God, they're drinkin' it all!
In the hills of Connemara!
Gather up the pots and the old tin can
The mash, and the corn, the barley, and the bran,
Then run like the divil from the excise man,
Keep the smoke from rising, Barney!
YOW!
