Neil, I'm wondering about the restrictive clauses in that prospective agent's contract. I've had agents three times, none of them ever sold any of my books (I've had 15 published without agents, and 2 more coming up in a month or two). I never had the restrictions you're talking about: the only restriction I had was, I was not allowed to approach editors with the book the agent was representing. (Logical) I was free, in the meantime, to write what I pleased, send it out to whomever I wished, and publish digitally if I so chose. I was supposed to offer any new manuscripts to the agent first (again, logical) in other words, she had first right of refusal as they say in the real estate business. Blessings!
