BTW I just acquired a Charles Shonk, Chicago, tin lithograph plate commemorating Admiral Dewey, hero of the Spanish American War in 1898. I have not seen anywhere that he is listed as the Father of the U.S. Navy, but he should be. This maritime collectible is for sale on Ebay for $225 USD.

Yes, East of Eden is an awesome story. The movie version with Jane Seymore and the Bottoms brothers is awesome, as is the soundtrack music. |
