A frightfully apt tie to Thomas Mann's eloquently beautiful work, 'A Death in Venice'.

As for 'gathering acorns', it is enough to sit in the square, sipping a good espresso (or perhaps some Absinthe) and feeling the natural blessings of the sun that fuels all life on this abused and hauntingly beautiful planet permeate the vanity of our aspersions...
