I would take rather strong exception to this astoundingly dismissive and over-simplified dismissal of the threat SARS-CoV-2 poses to everyone (not just the elderly and 'underlying medical condition' group) that you make, here, Rolf. It's also difficult to understand how such a grossly unsupported opinion can be presented without a shred of substantiating evidence or rational argument as to exactly how you reached such a conclusion.
As a medical specialist in chemical and biological threat analysis in the 80s and 90s (who has written extensively about such matters), I would be most interested in hearing further about exactly how you reached such a jarringly contradictory conclusion. SARS-CoV-2 is, make no mistake, a VERY serious matter and not something to be summarily dismissed in a simple sentence without further supporting documentation.
If you had said "the highly partisan broadcast media has needlessly and histrionically hyped the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic shamefully", I'd certainly have to agree with you, but leaping from an obvious fact like this to a blanket ridiculing of very genuine concerns over the threat posed by the present contagion is a quantum leap indeed!
I'd certainly be interested in hearing a bit more background on your hypothesis and a substantial evidentiary argument supporting this opinion you have made here!
By the way, I look forward to reading some of your works (such as 'The Last Weiss' and your aviation stories), since I also have a strong aground in aerospace history and aviation affairs.
