You had me laughing with this wonderful story of a dog's faithful protection gone awry.
Reminded me of my Pomeranian boss of the house, Jazz. When a grocery bagger that I would pick up at the grocery store with my groceries would come home with me, Jazz would bark at them for a moment and then settle down. And when I went to drive them back to the store he would always jump in the car and sit on their lap all the way back to the store. When he sat on my lap he got in the way of my steering. ;-)
But as they would leave, and sometimes turned to wave goodbye to him, he would viciously attack the window as though the bagger was a complete mean stranger instead of the guy he was enjoying a warm lap of just a moment before… Silly dog.
