Thanks writing this. It's true and I know from personal experience. My mother grew up during the Great Depression and World War II. She was scarred by poverty, war, divorce and limited opportunities. Though I had a better life than she did, I suffered because of her suffering. It's taken me years to realize that the pain she caused me, was from the pain she suffered. Hmm, might be a good theme for a novel. Thanks for your thought-provoking piece. |
