Very well said, Dana. And believe me, the bottom of this downturn isn't even in view yet. US citizens will be suffering a significant reduction in living standards for many years to come if the figures I've seen are correct. The days of easy lending from China, pension funds and so on are over, as are the days of conjuring money from thin air. At last, the world has seen through the conjurer's trick and those who spend a buck will first have to own a buck. Not a bad thing - but I really feel for all those losing their jobs and livelihoods - that's the real tragedy. |
