Congratulations Aberjhani on a new title release. I, too, am an aficionado of National Geographic. I have collected hundreds of back issues over the years and they serve as critical research for many of my projects. In fact, I found an older issue of National Geographic dated the exact year and month of my birth, December 1958! Can you imagine how surprised I was to have found this issue! It's priceless! And I can tell you it is the old leaf border before the yellow border of nowadays. Interestingly enough, there was an article in this 1958 issue on traditional Native American jewelry making where the Native Americans made tuft molds to pour the silver in the old way through a channel and then rubbed together until the surfaces matched and then tied together with buckskin straps. I used the research and is included in a storyline in my novel Blue Corn Woman. Also as a caregiver currently to my mother, and a writer, I relate so well to this blog and your article. It is amazing the things we learn in our journeys in life, while also taking care of familial responsibilities...the rewards are worth every bit of our soul journey in our homeland...Savannah has done you proud and you have done Savannah proud Aberjhani...Blessed Be.
