This idea was started by a SOLDIER who has served in the Mideast, NOT the government. There are other sites but I thought this was a GOOD thing. I know the feeling of being in a strange place and separated from loved ones. (My ex-husband was stationed in Taiwan I joined him in '73 and lived off-base). Add to that the threat of death and the horror of losing one's buddies...well we should support our troops no matter our feelings, political or otherwise...

A great suggestion and an excellant site though I am sure for those of us who can't afford to buy things even a letter from us to a soldier, airman or seaman saying they are thought of and appreciated back home.

If some Veterans need a good word from the American public...remember all the Nam soldiers that got spitting instead of welcoming for serving their country. Good gesture, but they need to help ALL of our veterans from ALL wars, not just those from Afghanistan or Iraq! Just how I feel. :) |
