"How do you Handle the Storms of Life?"
3 Comments - Show Original Blog
Good blog, Beverly. I have been through a huge storm in May, and I'm just beginning to recover.
"Secret of the Vine" called it pruning for new growth, but I think I was pared to the bone. Waiting for the new growth, and I can feel it percolating towards the sun!
The real "storms" caused by weather can create such personal strife and turmoil that I'm certain the word just was passed along to describe anything that is turbulent! "This too shall pass" is what keeps me going more than not...and like your pastor mentioned, sometimes "we wallow" and part of my personal mantra has always been, "Let me wallow in my mud for a tad...then I'll get back up, wash up, and be ready to kick butt once again!" Sometimes we owe it to ourselves...self pity..as long as it's not in abundance! Everything in small measure...good, bad, and ugly... :-) thanks, lindalaw
Beverly, I live in Iowa and was affected and displaced by the flooding...many people are quite overwhelmed by it all....but, I have learned to pick myself up by the bootstraps and carry on....humor and God help me through my most trying times...This is nothing compared to other things that I have been dealt with and I realize that others have things so much worse...I am truly blessed and will be just fine :)
