Black should have no more significant connotations than white, green or yellow. Of course, zero connotations for any color is probably impossible. Still, we all can be aware of the connotations of black & work to "neutralize" them. For example, for me when concerning clothes, black has a great connotation because I love wearing black Tees. Sometimes black pants. Here in Bogota, with its cool climate year-round, black is the most important color for general wear, but moreso for formal wear. It might be funny but black is probably Bogota women's most popular dress color at weddings!! Not only funerals. |
