Alas, were our system still (or ever) a democracy. None of us ever voted for Norquist, yet the people we voted for pledged their allegiance to him, not We The People or the Constitution. Isn't it Norquist and his Oligarch bosses who dictate? Il Duce told us that Fascism should rightfully be called Corporatism. Jos. Stalin often reminded us that it doesn't matter who can vote, it only matters who counts the vote. So much for democracy.

Alas, Robert...In a democracy, the majority always gets the government they deserve. Unfortunately, the rest of us have to suffer along with them. Far worse, no dictator has ever been peacefully voted out of office. |
