We usually had fried chicken or a roast for Sunday Dinners. Nowadays, I make anything, even if it's only a sandwich. The days of cooked Sunday Dinner is over with me now. Sometimes Mom and Dad took us to a restaurant and Dad and I had fried haddock and Mom would get roast beef. Very seldom do I eat big Sunday Dinners no more except on a holiday. Green beans sounds good though. Always a delicious filling meal with buttered bread on the side.
We kids were fed first and apart, as you mention, so that the adults could eat and chat and take their time. I'm surprised about Kentucky dinners.
Well thank you Joyce this sounds just like it was when I was a kid back home in Newfoundland. You were sure of that big cooked dinner and every relative for miles around. Thank you for taking me back.
