Don't forget maybe there's a "dog heaven"? Who can say for sure?
I recall the silence I heard when my bubba passed. Actually I felt the silence before he passed, and I said, he is not talking to me anymore. Because he was always asking for food, or he wanted to go out, or just holding my attention with his alluring eyes. When I felt the chitter chatter stop, I knew he was getting ready. I didn't realize that their was chitter chatter in my head from him, until it stopped. I guess that is the telepathic connection we have with our animals. Your loss was a bit harsher because of the way it happened so it may take more than a moment to get over.

Am so glad you popped in this afternoon: wanted to let you know I went up to the altar this morning at church, had prayer for you and your loss of "Boomer". Did you feel them?? I hope you did. Also prayed for J. Allen and Leah Wilson and their troubling situation. I hope they felt the prayers, too.
Things will get easier, as you get involved in doing more things: it won't make it easy at first, but if you keep your mind busy, you won't be so preoccupied with your loss. I know all too well the feeling of loss: lost my daddy in May, still miss him terribly, always will, but he's no longer suffering, and he's in Heaven, with Jesus. That brings me a lot of comfort, as I know he's in a better place. Christmas and other holidays will be hard, though; will miss hearing his cheery voice on the phone when we phone home.
