Chuck, war is truly hell. I'm so sorry you had to go through such a horrible experience. My late first husband flew medivac. At one point during TET offensive they put him on the airfield and he was told to defend it. He was to kill as many enemy as possible before they killed him. He had a gun and he sat there for hours with the sounds of war all around him. I don't think he ever talked about it to anyone but me. Thank you for your service, Chuck, and thank you for sharing.
