Many things you point out should, by rights, be common sense and common decency rearing their ugly head.
Such things are gone with the wind these days.
All you say is good and proper and I believe, personally to be true. I am not alone in this belief, I am sure.
To get anyone to unite these days is like pulling a bull dog's teeth.
We all wish it would happen. We all know it should, but there are no leaders anymore. No strength to guide.
We stand off, looking at life and think, ah for the good old days when people stood up for something they believed in. Where did the Greatest Generation get the gumption and drive, the dedication, the honor, the righteousness to drive Hitler's elite army into the ground.
I know the answer but you probably do not wish to hear it. It was from the government who manipulated us back then just like they do today and yes, the media was totally involved but to fight something more horrid than their planned future for us, they had to stop the Nazi's first.
One nation, stood up, thought alike, worked for a greater good, and some say, it was all a carefully planned attack on our shores (pearl Harbor) that got it all started for like now, no american wanted to get involved with that nasty mess over in Europe.
We wanted to stay out of it and then, look...those nasty people dared attack our shores???? Well, that is another kettle of fish righ there.
It's all a vicious game, Don. And we are mere pawns. the goal never changes. Never wavers. Good verses evil. Blacks verses white, if it comes to that. Democrats verses Republicans. There must be division or everyone will pull together and see the light.
No one wants that. There is no profit in it for anyone, evidently but the good souls that...see that light.
You are spinning your wheels, my good man. For all your good intentions, it will never be what you want it to be.
There just are no good leaders for us to stand behind. Where have all the flowers gone? where indeed.
