Like the old medical practice of "bleeding" a patient to remove infections, poetry is the "bleeding" of the poet's soul to exorcise demons, strengthen the heart and open the perceptions for the muse.

Poetry is also a way of staying creative in mind,heart and soul! The more creative and unique we are, even more surfaces. Personality is only part of it, in my opinion!
