Yes, we write for ourselves.
Yes, we write for the sake of it.
Yes, we don't need others to say our work is good.

But,
taking it from the mind and listnening ti the heart, well,
WE NEED to be liked, be said that we do good work, got understanding that our writing influences.

Yes, we don't need anybody.
But,
How much better we feel when others acknowledge our existence.

Most of us write for ourselves anyway, but it is always better that others acknowledge our accomplishment and give support and encouragements when due.

Otherwise, writing can be very lonesome if everybody just support and encourage oneself.

Sorry, I have been away, for I have other commitments to fulfill.

What you have written is very well said...and is why I write as well..Most of us write because we love it...and we don't always have time for anyone else..so if I have offended you or others that was not my intent! It's just that sometimes there are people on here who write because they love it too..but need encouragement...not because they don't feel they are good, but for some unknown reason deep inside..and so for those..a touch of thoughtfulness doesn't take but a second... How nice that you are in that great place in life where you do not need... Maybe one day I too shall get to that place... for now... I don't always write for me, altho mostly I do..sometimes I read others because I love to read their work too...and It feels nice to let them know..for whatever it's worth... I love your work, and read it all the time...so like I said...no offense to any one in particular...if we all felt the same we would sure be a dull bunch... hugs, lindalaw

I could have written all these same thoughts. Maybe I'll get a book published- or maybe I'll just love it myself. I leave a lot in God's hands.

...then one can write not only for selv but also for a few out there that share that special commitment not only to the letters but to each other, like a few have a kind of liniment made of words to make the pain from the wound of the nex one more bearable.

here hear here Belle, good to read at a quick internet cafe pit stop in rainy rainy Rio, bag stuffed full of writes, scribbles, and scratches, keeping me sane! Oh Belle, how many times have I said this or words to this affect in past to people who try to keep score of their work by the number of reviews they get. I have even had people message me asking me and by asking I felt like it was a demand to read and review their work.
If writers are serious about their work and their creativity they do not need someone elses comments for justification of their worth. Thanks again for speaking out for the majority of us feel the same way.
