Religion: An excuse not to THINK! Keep writing, Belle.

La Belle,

I am a believer, but think Man's traditions have ruined things. Why I haven't been going to church much. This past Friday (a week ago) and Sunday were the first times I went in quite some time. Didn't much care for Friday's service (at a friend's church), first thing they did was ask for money. It was a healing service ... my friend has gone so far as to not check her blood sugar any more! That, frankly, terrifies me. Sunday's service was better (at my twin sister's church), they started a series of programs called, 'Nothing's too hard for God.' We'll see ... keep me in your prayers. An excellent write that is sure to provoke a lot of discussion.

Your sentiments echo my own religious views quite closely. I do not believe God is held captive in gigantic stone and stained glass castles that reach for the sky. I believe he resides where we look for him whether it be in a bubbling brook, a raging sea or a muc puddle at the side of a road.

I agree with you Belle. Here's a quote I wrote in 2005:
"We cease to seek Truth once we claim
to be owners of it." and another in 2006 "Those who claim to know "the truth" often stumble over it."
