i would say, write because you love to write--not for trackers or reviews-sometimes i have 4 or 5, sometimes in the teens--write because you have something to express

I don't think you should quit but do think you should stop judging your abilities by the number of reviews you do or don't get. You are a fine writer and do not need other people to decide that for you. Write because you love the words not because others do.

Karla, its not a popularity contest. We write for the love of writing. Comments are always wonderful to have but it won't make or break us. As far as tracking, I don't track when I'm not on the site regularly to read and or comment. My mailbox gets flooded and emails that I am expecting sometimes don't get through. It is never because I don't like the person or their writings that I stopped tracking. No one should feel obligated to comment simply because of friendship. I can't speak for everyone but with me, I don't have the time to comment, but always enjoy reading when time permits.

Just write for the joy of writing. You are a great writer, Karla, so don't sell yourself short.

And I am still holding you to that ferris wheel ride girlfriend! ;)

Not to worry. People get the summertime blues and responses seem to have gone WAY down. One of my stories has 1500 hits and one comment! Your poems are always something I look for, and the photos too. WRITE ON! Eileen

Don't you know it's not the trackers or the comments or anything else that matters but your OWN feelings of fulfilment and expiation?!

Get a grip, sister! Praise is nice, but fulfilment a damned sight better. I remember some GREAT bands I've listened to over the decades and almost always their greatest work was the least generally appreciated.

As Uncle Jim says on the absolutewrite writers site, "write true, write hard, write on".

Karla...the last thing you are is a "dud"...and I'll tell you this much.. I am new to this as you know...really a dud if one must be described...YET YOU INSPIRE ME... What is it they say..."if I only can change one person's life...?" Well... guess what... I am she! That one! And I can easily bet there are lots of other "ones" out there that enjoy and look forward to reading "yours"... Problem is sometimes..we are soooo busy trying to "fix our own stuff"...market, work, sell, improve, and just get thru today that we can't always think of the other person...but there are days when YOU/OTHERS are all we can think of.... Don't give up... Concentrate on something else...not you for a tad... sorry, but I speak from experience.. soon that cup just fills up to the brim and WE can give more to others and to ourselves...this rut you are in will pass...promise! lindalaw

You keep writing...
I love reading your words, as you write what is in your heart.

Summer is such a busy time...I am sure that plays a HUGE role in the smaller amount of reviews.
I know that I have had little time to devote to reading and writing this summer. And selfishly, I often choose writing over reading and reviewing... I feel guilty about it sometimes, but I hope that those whom I track will forgive my eratic reviewing... :~)

I am sure that for many others it is the same...This insanely busy season is almost half-way over though...:~)

"Dud"? There are no duds. Some are just better than others. As for the Den's Hot Poetry List, I have never had a poem on it yet. And if I never do, so what. I write for myself as much as anyone else. I don't like everything I write, but I sure won't quit. I'll never improve my skills that way. Remember the operative words when writing poetry, are tenacity and heart. Keep your great work coming our way. We love it. And from my personal perspective, I hope no one is offended if I don't have the time to review every poem of theirs I read. Some of the folks in the den write and post more poetry in a day than I do in a month. While I have been faithful in reading every poem of the folks I track, I simply do not have the time to write a meaningful review for all of them. God bless. JMW

Karla, you cannot please everyone . . . Sometimes we get into a rut . . . Sometimes other people have their own personal problems and that can affect them not tracking certain people . . . I never thought of AD as a personality contest . . . I write what I write . . . If people read what I write and comment on it . . . Good . . . If not . . . That is their problem . . . Not mine . . .
