Used to be we (in Texas) could put our designated organ donation on the back of our TX Driver's License...no more. But it does have a space for "Directive to physician has been filed at tel #..."
We just make sure those important "directives" are readily noted in our doctor's files (which has our medical history).
We should all make organ donations - upon death...

Dear Randall,
It is a great gift--the gift of life. However, thy are finding out that many donors are giving organs that have cancers or other diseases without their knowing and the recipients are catching or developing that disease. For instance, on another note, heart transplant recipient often tell of taking on some aspects of the doner's personality or tastes in food or clothing. So we need to monitor the donors a bit better so this wonderful gift can continue more safely. Good post!
