Yes to a degree your right but i still say that the victoms of this person should still be considered they to most likely suffered a great deal of torture that was most likely much worse than the effects of the drugs,I am sure that when these people made the choice to commit capital murder,they pondered the what ifs and made the choice anyway. I for one have no pity they made the choice thats more than there victom got...

the thought of any person taking the life of another person always makes me feel like God's will is being violated -- and yet, Georg's point is valid -- the only consolation, and that is not truly the best choice of semantics, is knowing that the condemned violated the sanctity of God's laws, and man's laws, and willfully took the life of another of God's children -- I am always perplexed when I try to think through what is right in those situations -- but make no mistake, the condemned violated God's, and man's laws -- did the condemned strangle the victim? -- watch as the life was slowly suffocated from their body? -- did the condemned stab the victim twenty times and hear them scream for mercy, watch the life gush out of them? -- did the condemned shoot the victim in the head and watch as their brains were splattered on the ground? -- the victim had no choice in the pain they must have been forced to endure either -- at the hands of a friend, or at the hands of a total stranger -- and the victim may have been a helpless child, an old and weary senior, or a person in the prime of their life -- none were given the choice of how or when they died -- the defendant gave them no choice and did not care about the sanctity of their lives -- as I say, my emotions are always mixed in these situations -- much peace and love -- JMW

Sorry everybody, Fee took the words out of my mouth, and Randall has not read the fine print of God's conditions.

I am not totally without a heart, but in Nam we encountered devastated fathers whose first sons had the hands chopped off with a meat cleaver because the elder was reluctant to aid the VietCong.

Walt, it is interesting that both Randall and Felix are right, even though their viewpoints are opposite. That always amazes me. I suppose that my own viewpoint opposes murder, no matter who does it. The murderer did undisputed wrong, and so does his executioner. But, all that to one side, your premise (method of death is cruel) is absolutely correct. No doubt about that. However, I suggest that this method of execution is not at all unusual. Execution by lethal injection has become preferred and quite usual, and the practice is spreading in states and countries where execution is allowed. No matter; this and any other method of execution will be controversial so long as ideologies clash over the issue of murder. Great blog Walt. You stirred 'em up :-)

The Word of God says not to kill. One of the Ten Commandments. No ifs, ands or buts. If He'd wanted conditions, I feel He would have had them added.

At the risk of sounding cold hearted most of the ones condemned to death have not only taken another life but have also caused untold pain and suffering to families of the ones who they took the lives of...cruel and unusual...look into the eyes of a mother and father whos five year old child has been raped and murdered by one of these convicts...
