Humanity does not always have the most noble priorities Walt as can be witnessed by war, murder, rioting etc. I agree that the monies used for this effort could be better spent on more humanitarian causes. The number of human tragedies such as Titanic are too numerous to begin to explore. All sadden the hearts. But we must move beyond. Let Titanic and those that perished with her rest. I suppose that people will spend their own money on whatever they wish - and so it must be. After all, we all spend money on useless things for our own pleasure - it's just the scale that changes with the rich - or as someone once said of men - it's the size of their toys.

I agree...there's nothing more to be gained and we won't learn from that horrific mistake...let the watery graves for so many poor souls rest in peace.....feed the poor....

The problem is where to draw the line. Some would argue that all studying of history is a waste. If your grandparents were on the Titanic, would you still feel this way? |
