Such good points here. We need to build more homes near the downtown sectors (apartments, condos) by using pre-existing structures that formerly were warehouses and/or empty office spaces. Some of this is being done already but on a small scale I imagine. People (workers at whatever level socially) need urgently to be able to live closer to their workplaces. Mass transport urgently needs injections to recuperate it overall. I think your key word is traditional. We can't always depend on what is traditional. Real needs of the moment must override tradition.
