You know I appreciate your work, Erik, but you're way too optimistic. Voters get rid of anyone who has been there long enough to get power, and that's all there is. The 'lack of experience' is a PLUS for Obama because it means he hasn't been at the trough.

An excellent point - no experience is better than a real track record of screwing things up!

But I don't think voters see it that way. I may be wrong, but I think that they distrust politicians so much that to stay in power requires you to prove yourself - what have you done for us lately? In that sense, no experience is the same as bad experience, since neither did anything useful.

But yeah, logically, just keep votin' 'em out until something works. I think that's going on in Michigan to some extent, for example. They're in a real dark hole and nobody's done jack for them. Every election seems to be an exercise in throwing the dice on the new name. Why not?

We all keep mentioning Obama's lack of experience, but where has the famous "experience" gotten us in the past 8 years? It's not so much experience as being surrounded by good and WISE advisors. Isn't it?
