I agree with you:Suicide is never ever the solution to life's problems.
You made a very strong point when you said the people in your country laughed a lot,eventhough their lives are very hard.
I think that is a key to overcoming challenges,the ability to laugh or smile at what life brings our way. Another is,I believe,the willingness to find joy in life's small pleasures.
Perhaps then we will not worry so much about what we don't have.

The world forgets that it was Philippinos that unselfish helped the Allies in WWII.
It is so easy when one is born on top of the mountain to tell other how to climb.
