I agree completely with your thoughts on the Prologue (preface or whatever one may call it). For all of my books of essays, I did some kind of Intro, as you suggested, to set up the essays, to provide context, tone, theme. It's important provided it is kept short. That's the key. No more than 3 pages or 750 words. That's my take. |
