I really do understand what you are writing about with tropical storms & hurricanes while living in middle Tidewater Virginia from 1981 to 2000. Having lived in a rural area, we had to deal with Hurricane Gloria & Hurricane Flyod. Although The Christmas Ice Storm of 1998 created problems much greater than the Hurricanes, especially when you're without power for 6 days. \One learns how to improvise in situations like that.

Living in New Jersey, I was keeping an eye on the storm. We got 8 inches of rain in just 12 hours. Crazy! Glad I had my documents backed-up in the cloud. Watched the storm hit RI and thought of you! Glad you were able to endure and make good use of the time.

I've lived where I live for about forty years and have sat here watching storms wash our southernly California hillsides and homes away. I've seen earthquake damage that destroyed homes and business and riots and fires and all kinds of really bad stuff and yet... knock on wood, nothing has happened to me or the area I live in.... A shoe will be dropping?
