You are very right when you say "If it ain't broke, Don't fix it".

A few years ago I bought a window oscillating fan to pull in the air from the outside, but it was a waste of money, just sitting a fan in a room to move the air around works far better.

As for Danny Mac's comment....It may indeed be the power lines coming into the house....Or your neighborhood may have a power pole transformer that needs to be replaced....My mother had the same problem in 1968 and she complained to the power company and they ended putting in a new, larger transformer.

I mor less invented a business about f5 years ago rooting and clearing laundry dryer ducts and over the years have been in thousands of homes and the best machines, yes, even after all of these years are the Sears brand washers and dryers. Why? Kenmore washers and dryers are still running because Sears did not build obsolescence into their machines...
Which I think is part of the reason Sears is now out of business.

Ain't it just like electrical gadgets to give out, mostly right after the warranty expires. Planned obsolescence, I think they call it.

I would suggest you have an electrician check your power lines in the house. There may be a strain on it causing too little or too much current to flow to have things break down like that. My daughter just started for her electrical engineering degree and will be a help in four years. Check with an expert on the subject.

Aye, the frustration of fixing things that really (in my estimation) ought not to be broken is real. But you've got the right attitude. Fix what you can and appreciate what works.
