"Eva’s Byte #395 – Getting a Leg Up"
2 Comments - Show Original Blog
Eva,
Christmas the way you celebrate it was long ago and far away for me. Something of my childhood that Mom made so great with all of her declaration and cooking, sometimes over 100 pounds of different kinds of candy.
In recent years it's been all about food with gifts of cakes, cookies and candy. I find myself over eating and gaining weight I do not want to gain. Occasionally, I like to listen to Christmas carols and have joined in an evening with a local assisted living place where I sing for the clients songs they love to hear, not always the Christmas songs we all sing together. Last time, they requested that I sing Sweet Caroline another time. But I don't have Neil Diamond's accent. Just his deep voice.
So glad you have the energy to go through your Christmas rituals and still have time to write on your latest novel.
Happy Holidays!
Ron
PS. My apologies for not following your blog. I haven't been following anyone's blog. I guess I need my fingers slapped with a ruler. ;-)
As both my first wife and myself were non practicing Jews having four children, Christmas was always looked as a family day having nothing to do with religion. We would have a mountain of Christmas wrapped gifts that would take so long to get through, we would have to have a, depending when we started we would take time off for a special breakfast or lunch. My wife's mother would be with us, my parents and brother and his wife, In Truth, in my memory, Christmas day was always wonderful.
