I'm watching Vermont cope with the rain and humidity that New Jersey just got. Yikes, what a summer! I'm glad you purchased a new air con. It's sad, but nothing can be repaired these days. If your computer is still good and you have air con, you'll make it through to the cold of winter! Just think of that, COLD. How nice!

Sorry I haven't kept up with your blog. I'm afraid there are too many blogs. But this one strikes home because we are having all time record high temperatures throughout Texas and its not just here, but many places in the country.
I learned years ago that I couldn't sleep in the summer here without air conditioning. Thankfully, throughout all the 40 years I've had central air, even while having portions replaced or upgraded. Since I keep it 81° downstairs and I have a very open up stairs area, the two bedrooms up there have additional window units because they would normally be around 91° even with ceiling fans.
At night, we turn it down to 79°. During the upcoming weekend, the nightly lows will be in the 90s, so even though the air conditioning runs all night, it may not be able to maintain 79°. And, our grid, covering all of Texas may fail from overloading. I hope not like the three day outage two winters ago.
But I always love the humidity even for the little bit when I go outside. However, the sun can be brutal so I don't expose myself very long during my daily sunbath.

good morning, Eva (9:25 a.m. here in SoCal)
It's supposed to get into the high temps outside today (90's l0w 100's) so I took my little girl 'Gracie' for a longer walk this morning, while still in low 70's as walks later will be considerably shorter... One thing about SoCal heat, thee is hardly ever any humidity. which is a good thing.
