I am grateful for your willingness to share your experiences. If more people would share who knows what wonders we might find?
What I can share about "otherness" is that there were 3 times in my life when I was aware I was about to be in accidents which were likely fatal. Once on my bicycle turning in front of a car, once with my Mom driving our station wagon- and she completely lost control in the ice and all our momentum was speeding into a tractor trailer, and once driving myself and losing control on an icy hill which sent me sliding down into a busy intersection.
With the station wagon incident, all I can describe is some mysterious force changed the direction of our car- off harmlessly into a tree. The car had been spinning out straight for the truck on ice- but it was moved the other way and off the road. It was not a dream- plenty of car damage- but I draw a blank as to our survival.
With both the bike and hill incidents what I can describe is the beginning of the accident- turning my bike in front of a car- sliding with great speed into a busy intersection...So this begins to happen- maybe 2 seconds...
Then- it is as if the next 10 seconds are skipped. They didn't happen. It is suddenly 10 seconds later and I'm on the other side of where the collisions would have occurred.
I've certainly been in plenty of accidents I would like to have skipped but didn't- but these would have been especially bad- or fatal.
So- I am not so concerned with my grasp of reality- as I am with letting it grasp me.
Who knows where it will take us?
