Okay,

I may get a thousand rejection slips, do nothing, or actually learn from this, (which I hope). I fear no one changing my originiality, it probably needs changing, or at least help. Anyway, I start school next month. Wish me luck.

MARY - it is rare that furthering one's education is not beneficial - especially for something that you truly like and WANT to learn about.

I stopped trying to give advice a long time ago Mary -- your are going to have to decide for yourself which is the right thing for you to do -- just do not lose any of your originality -- peace and love my friend -- Jon Michael

Hi Mary. Sounds like a great idea to me. How I got published?Well, with Paulist Press ( they haven'tpublished my book yet, but it looks promising)I was rejected for four manuscripts, but I tried one more and they liked it. I worked hard and they we were going to publish it but we couldn't get an o.k. from the religious order of Mother Teresa, wo use her quotes. All that work for nothing!Yes, it was discouraging. But I sent it two more manuscripts. They liked one of them and now it is going to the editors meeting for review. The Chief editor asked his editors to make it a saleable book.So- my answer is persistance!Another publisher I sent three or four manuscripts which I didn't even hear an answer. But I sent one more she liked it and is reviewing it. I constantly look for publishers and every day I do something related to writing. Now I have a very good agent who is consdiering repsresnting me. He had worked at Random house etc.He has been encouraging. He ejected three of my manuscripts but likes three of them.I look at the mansucript guidelines and follow them. I have th3 Writers Market book and a Chrsitian publishers information book by Sally Stuart.It takes passion and perseverance ( as Bruce says)The mann who is an agent. Br prepared for alot of rejections. But to have a traditional publihser that is what you need to do. Hope that helps.
