Vickie, thanks for the nuke 'em advice on cleaning sponges. I do not use them for dishes or anything that comes into contact with food. I just use them for general housekeeping chores. With a lot of bleach (chlorine) to clean them with. Chlorine is one of the most aggressive oxidizers in the world. Love and peace to you my dear friend. Jon Michael

Good tip, and yea I love them for cleaning pots etc but they do get pretty gross...was thinking of seeing how they would come out if put in dishwasher with dishes...

I usually use paper plates any way.
