Michelle, this was a powerful question...but I find it easy to always forgive...even the most heinous acts! It is not for me to judge! It is not for me to burden my shoulders with the sins of others! When my mother was murdered, I saw the anger that my entire family held...and for some reason, altho I too was angry at the insanity and coldbloodedness of the act...I also found myself forgiving immediately...asking God to help me with that forgiveness...so that no more anger would be carried in the name of my precious mother! I've had more peace from this than some of my siblings who cannot forgive. Afterall...when we hold the anger and carry it with us...we continue to give power to those who inflict the pain! It is never easy to forgive...but in my own life...it's easier to live with forgiveness than not. Very thought yielding blog... hugs, lindalaw |
