HE WILL BE O.K. AND LEARN MUCH AS HE GROWS OLDER. MANY CHILDREN HAVE THIS AND WITH MUCH LOVE AND SPECIAL HELP TO HELP THEM WITH SPECIAL NEEDS THEY COME ALONG GREAT. WE CAN SEE MATTHEW COMING ALONG BETTER ALL THE TIME. HE LOVES TO SING AND IS SHY AROUND US SOMETIMES, BUT HE DOES AS HE WISHES AND WE DONT PRESSURE HIM. HE IS A GREAT KID AND IS SO WELL LOVED. WE WISH GREAT THINGS FOR HIM AS WELL AS YOUR GRANDSON TOO. GOD BLESS US ALL.

That's fantastic! I'm not familiar with the sign system that you are referencing. I do however interpret. I have watched young children with no language in any form have their world open up to them when they are introduced to signing. Whatever system being used I hope that it creates a huge feeling vocabulary for the entire family and opens the door for not only greater communication but a large potential for growth beyond expectations. Never let anyone set a limit on what an autistic person (or anyone else for that matter) can do or learn. I've known some people with autistic children who had limits set by well-meaning teachers... only later to see those limits FAR exceeded by continuing to never given in and expecting great things.
