What a wonderful blog my friend, full of inspiration and truth! I too have one of those friends who all they want to do is change things in the home, I am happy to get a coat of paint where it is really needed! I have the family member who buys trinkets like they will make no more and buys teapots and dishes because they are collectors items! So what! Who is going to buy them I asked one day! She replied that she would never sell them...Don't get me wrong I like pretty things but I would rather have discarded old antiques that many have thrown away for new shiney things! I am a creature of habit and don't change things usually until it is impossible to go another mile, another day, or another step! I find too much joy in my family, friends, their family, nature, and reading my extended family's thoughts here at the den...no we can't take the things of this world with us...I am thankful for what the Lord has provided...and can't imagine what is awaiting us when we get to our eternal home! I guess we should pray for those who are absorbed in the material world of their own! A very inspiring write my friend!

Thank you for writing an inspiring, thoughtful post.

I have felt the pressure to consume. That was then when I lived in a city. While living there, I felt the pressure not only to consume but also to fill my life. Every minute needed to be busy because I felt I was in a race.

How did I stop running? My solution was to drop out. I dropped out to move to a tiny island. Now people care more about who I am than what I owe. They care more how I feel than what I do.
I dropped out of the race so that I could live a "successful" life.

I have enough too, I am downsizing and moving to efficiency apt soon. The good Lord said Do not lay up treasures here on earth where they may rust. I don't use most of the stuff and don't even need to keep up with the Joneses either. Feel I need less the older I get and maybe those people who want it all will come around later.
